sunny & blue skies

It was SUNNY & blue skies today! We explored some lakes on base. We saw salmon spawning, which meant 1,000's of salmon are swimming upstream each day. It was crazy to look into the water and see 20+ fish at once. Lucy spotted them too. Many of them were brightly colored red. We also got to see some float planes up close. Lucy asked a million questions about them, all of which 2 I could answer. My airplane knowledge is lacking. Finn loved the planes and said "hi" to them all.

Lucy is Two!

Happy Birthday Miss Lucy Orabelle! TWO years of life has brought us so much joy, laughter, tears, adventures, sass, dancing, singing and snuggles. You are loved to the moon and back!

Happy 4th of July! These pictures are from the whole weekend. We enjoyed some family time, fire trucks, parades, art fest and of course some red/white/blue outfits! Happy birthday America!

night time prayers

I am super far behind posting much to this blog but for the past few nights Lucy has blown me away with her night time prayer requests. She prays for Jesus, the baby growing Auntie Carrie's belly and ice cream. Lucy loves reading her Bible at night and praying for Jesus is so sweet. She talks about him and often goes in her room on her own to read the Bible (or look at the pictures).  She is very aware of babies, usually we pray for all of the babies in the world...now just the baby in Aunties tummy. We also pray for ice cream. I tell God I'm thankful for ice cream because it has been our reward for pooping on the potty. And Lucy LOVES ice cream. It is her go to anytime you ask her what she wants to eat. And sometimes when she eats her toes, she claims the taste like ice cream. Yum!

From Africa for a visit!

Grandpa and Grandma Otten were here for a short visit this past month. Lucy was delighted having these two around and giving her all the attention she needed. She loved dancing for them, loving on them and showing them how big she is getting. It was a busy time for Dave but we managed a few family dinners and Lucy had quite a few bedtimes with grandpa and grandma.

Airport greeting

Lucy Lucy Lucy

Here is a camera/phone dump of Lucy pictures. She is an incredible, special, wonderful little human. She is particular yet spontaneous. She is strong willed yet loving and sweet. She has compassion and makes me smile everyday. This little girl has an amazing mind. Now I just need to keep up and help her keep learning and growing. We have continued sign language and she loves it and amazing me with her comprehension. I feel blessed to raise Lucy and know she will be my baby forever.
