I passed all my boards and I am now an RRT!!

I am ready to apply for jobs and hope to find one soon, but maybe I will relish in the knowledge that I worked my booty off and am very blessed to be successful and ready for a job that I know I will love.

Quickie at the Great Sand Dunes

Dave woke up from working an overnight shift around noon and asked me what we should do for the afternoon.  I said I wasn't sure.  Dave said, "let's drive to the Sand Dunes." Okay. One hour later we were driving to Southern Colorado to see the tallest dunes in North America.  As the dunes came into view, it looked more like a mirage, sand got dumped into the middle of this landscape.  Mountain peaks, grasslands, annnnnnnd SAND!  The dunes are beautiful and we got to watch the sun set behind the dunes from our camp.  In the morning we set out to the top of the highest dune.  Actually a pretty tough hike considering the sand gobbled up your feet as you hike straight up.  But it was well worth the sweat and sandy shoes.  The views were breathtaking and we loved our time there.  On our way out of the park we stopped at a hike to Zapata Falls.  Once you reach the the water, you have to navigate on the side of the freezing cold stream to get back to see the waterfall.  It ended up being awesome and we were so pumped to see a the 25 ft. waterfall.  Yet again, I am thankful for an active, adventure-seeking, brave, sleep-deprived, and kick-A$$ husband!  I enjoyed this quickie of a trip to the dunes and very appreciative for spontaneous adventures!

Otten Time

This weekend Dave and I attended a wedding of a family friend.  This meant that his parents and brother and sister were going to be there.  Taryn, Bryan's girlfriend, was also able to make it, so we had a great time getting to know her.  On Saturday, Bryan, Taryn, Kailey, Dave and I went to breweries in Fort Collins and Loveland before the wedding.  It was fun tasting beer, quizzing Taryn about her life goals, laughing at ourselves and just relaxing.  The wedding was held in Loveland and the reception was in the Rozum's backyard.  This was in the Otten's old neighborhood, so many family friends were there.  We definitely ruled the dance floor with our mad skillz.  The Cupid Shuffle and Whistle were among my most favorite of the night.  Congrats to Bri and Shayne! And thank you for a wonderful night!

CRT!

I passed my first board exam today and I am now a Certified Respiratory Therapist.  I filled out my Colorado State License and plan to apply to jobs early next week.  I still have to pass another set of boards but this is a huge step!  Wahooo, I am moving right along.

Phoenix Trip

Kezia, Avery and I flew down to Phoenix for five days to spent time with the Bemi and their new digs.  It was the first time Avery would be away form Michael and Kali, so I had the pressure of keeping both Kezia and Avery happy and safe.  The flights went smoothly and baby Avs was an angel.  While in Phoenix we managed to do a lot of shopping, relaxing, eating, and hanging with the babies.  Miss Carlie had school each day, so she was always very excited to come home a play with her two Aunties.  Baby Tessa was standing and took one step while we were there.  Both Bemis girls are precious and I loved spending time with them.  I was able to read to Carlie each night and feed Tessa anytime I had food.  Baby Avery loved the swing and watching her cousins play.  I had a great trip and it was great to spend time with Kez and Carrie!  Love you sisters!

Grand Tetons/Yellowstone National Park

I finished RT school and Dave had his first vacation since early Spring, so we decided to drive to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. Here are tons of pictures from our trip. We camped for 1 night in the Tetons and 3 nights in Yellowstone. We saw lots of wildlife including 3 grey wolf spottings, herds of buffalo, lots of antelope, 1 bull moose, many birds of prey, 3 deer, 1 herd of elk, a dozen cutthroat fish, lots of chipmunks and ground squirrels, and a couple of coyotes to top it all off. We toured the entire park in only 3 days which required us to drive a lot and quickly see all the sights. It was a fantastic trip and I feel blessed to have seen one of the nations most beautiful national parks. The natural beauty is quite amazing.
