North Carolina

Dave, Lucy and I were able to travel to North Carolina during Dave's week of vacation.  Lucy was a rockstar on the flights.  She took naps on the go, ate food on our laps, made friends on the plane, and smiled at everyone.  She was such a HAM!

It was so wonderful to visit with Kailey in Charlotte.  We visited her work, many breweries, local restaurants, parks, coffee shops, friends and we traveled to the beach.  Lucy did pretty good while sleeping in a new place and she took great naps on the go.  Lucy was such a trooper!

Colfax Half Marathon!

I ran my personal best half marathon on May 18th.  It was the Colfax Half Marathon.  The course was awesome.  We ran through the zoo, down Montview (a street lined with beautiful trees/old houses), through an old firehouse with many high fives from police and firefighters, only 3 miles on East Colfax (complete with a few shady motels) and it finished in City Park.  I ran with a girl names Julia (an EM resident with Dave) and we were able to push ourselves and run a great race.  My goal was to break 2 hours and we did!  I got a time of 1:56!  I am very proud of my accomplishment and thankful for my health.

A huge thank you to my training partner/strength and conditioning coach, Lucy.
Lucy and I have logged many miles together and she is always such a trooper!  Thank you Lucy and Mama loves you!

7 months old in May!

I am posted this a little bit late, but Lucy is 7 months old!  Full of personality and happiness, our little nugget is such a blessing.  Lucy is eating more solid foods and her favorites include apples, pears, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, avocado, and banana.  She loves to feed herself.  She has little crackers that dissolve quickly and she loves them!  Lucy also hates peas... still.  I tried to give her a mix of peas and pears, but she knew the peas were there.  She did not puke, but her face showed her major displeasure.

Silly girl with her tongue.

#alreadyincharge

So while making sandwiches yesterday, I got a banana out to cut up and Miss Lucy started grunting/squealing/demanding some banana.  She had just nursed (so I knew she was hungry), but she saw that yummy banana and needed some.  I gave her toys but she just stared at the banana, then at me while grunting.  I knew she wanted it, so I gave her the top of it and she chowed down!  Crazy; Lucy is not even six months old, but she knows what she wants and is truly the one in charge.
